LYON CONVENTION CENTRE: AN EVENTS COMPLEX IN THE VERY CENTRE OF THE CITY

 

In the heart of the Cité Internationale with its avant-garde architecture designed by Renzo Piano, benefiting from state-of-the-art facilities and a privileged environment between the Tête d'Or park and the River Rhône, the Lyon Convention Centre stands shoulder to shoulder with other leading international convention centres.

The Lyon Convention Centre provides: 

  • 24,000m² of modular space, including 3 auditoriums (with 300, 900 and 3,000 seats respectively) 

  • 35 meeting rooms that can hold between 50 and 450 people

  • A modular 8,400m2 space on a single level, without pillars and benefiting from natural daylight  

     

The spaces can be totally customised to your needs and are designed to host Conventions, Seminars, Congresses, Trade fairs/Consumer fairs, prestigious Evening receptions, Gala dinners and Concerts.
The venue is equipped with state-of-the-art communication technologies, providing internet connections through high-quality Wi-Fi and 4G access, thanks to fibre optics installed throughout the building.

Inspired by ancient Gallo-Roman constructions, the venue has an Amphitheatre (L'Amphithéâtre 3000) that is unrivalled in Europe, with a 180° semi-circular hall opening onto the stage area.
This prestigious event complex in the heart of the city centre hosts more than 200 events a year, including major international conferences.

 

The Lyon Convention Centre is owned by the Lyon Metropolitan Authority and its management is delegated to GL events.

Access: getting to the Lyon Convention Centre

 

Situated in city centre in the heart of the Cité Internationale next to the Tête d'Or Park, the Lyon Convention Centre is ideally located and easy to get to, whatever the means of transport you choose to use.

 

 

By plane

Lyon city centre is less than 30 minutes from Lyon-Saint Exupéry International Airport, via the Rhonexpress.

 

  • Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport, France's 2nd largest regional airport, has direct flights to 116 cities, including 96 international destinations (36 countries) with 44 airlines
  • Flights to 50 destinations on a daily basis
  • Lyon-Saint Exupéry is easy to get to with its excellent interconnecting transport networks: high-speed train (TGV) and the Rhônexpress, a rail link that runs every 15 minutes to Lyon city centre (less than 30 minutes travel)
  • Lyon-Bron Business airport is also just 20 minutes from the centre of Lyon

By train

The city of Lyon has 3 high-speed train (TGV) stations with several trains a day to and from major French and European cities:

Ideally situated in the heart of Europe, the Lyon Convention Centre is 1.5 hours from Geneva, 3 hours from Turin, 4 hours from Paris, 4.5 hours from Milan and 5 hours from Barcelona by car.

By taxi

1,400 taxis are at your service to drive you to the Lyon Convention Centre.

There are 2 designated taxi areas in front of the Lyon Convention Centre.

 

  • Area 1: At the main entrance, next to the Bear statue

If you want to get to the Convention Centre by bike, five Vélo'v (self-service) bike stations are at your disposal at the Cité Internationale, including one in front of the main entrance and one next to L'Amphithéâtre 3000.

By boat shuttle

You can hire boats to shuttle guests/participants between the Convention Centre, the city centre and La Sucrière.
 

There is a landing pier in front of the Lyon Convention Centre for mooring all types of boats. 

  • Cité internationale to Quai Gailleton (Hotels - Place Bellecour): 15 minutes
  • Cité internationale to Pont Novotel Gerland (Hotels): 30 minutes 
  • Cité internationale to La Sucrière: 45 minutes
