EQUITA LYON 2025, 31st EDITION!
The 31st edition of Equita Lyon, the Lyon Horse Show, and the Longines Equita Lyon International Horse Show will be held from October 29 to November 2 at Eurexpo Lyon.
Equita Lyon, Europe's largest international equestrian show, celebrated its 30th anniversary last year with 200,000 visitors! This is a new attendance record for this event, which has grown over the years to offer an international audience a comprehensive program of competitions and entertainment.
Every year at the same time, for five days, Lyon becomes the world capital of equestrianism and home to Europe's largest stable. On the sporting side, the Longines Equita Lyon International Horse Show will host its traditional four FEI World Cups.
BIG SPORTS EVENTS ARE ALWAYS ON THE AGENDA!
Since its arrival on the international scene in 2005 and the organization of its first International Show Jumping Competition (CSI), the Lyon competition has continued to grow!
Since hosting its first FEI World Cup show jumping and dressage events in 2009, the Lyon event will host a pony show jumping competition in 2017, with the first edition of the FEI Jumping Ponies' Trophy, and the FEI Indoor Four-in-Hand World Cup in 2018.
At the same time, the Western riding division has also grown rapidly. The Equita Lyon Western Horse Show, Europe's leading Western riding event, will host the NRHA European Derby for the sixth consecutive year in 2025. This reining competition brings together the best five-, six-, seven-, and eight-year-old horses at the Lyon-Eurexpo arena. More than 200 horse-rider pairs are expected to attend from all over Europe.
On Saturday, November 1, the evening dedicated to the NRHA European Derby will also feature the only qualifying event for The Run For A Million in Europe! Whether you're a fan of western disciplines or a novice looking for thrills, the Western Center is a must-see at the Lyon Horse Show!
THE LARGEST AND MOST COMPREHENSIVE TRADE SHOW IN EUROPE
For this new edition, the Lyon Horse Show and its 140,000 m² of exhibition space welcome young and old alike to discover the world of horses and ponies! The largest indoor event dedicated to horses, ponies, and horse riding will be buzzing for five days: shows, national competitions including the final of the FFE Amateur Gold Tour – Vicomte A., breed presentations, horseball demonstrations, pony games, and other amazing disciplines will be taking place continuously in the show's 11 arenas!
The 750 exhibitors and breeders will be there to present the latest products and services in the equestrian sector. The Health Center will allow everyone to learn more about horse and rider health, while the Children's Village awaits the little ones to introduce them to the joys of horse riding and get them in touch with ponies! To familiarize yourself with equestrian literature and meet authors signing their books, head to the Cultural Stop. And to discover young companies in the sector, the Startup Village awaits visitors!
On Thursday, October 30, the show will welcome visitors and riders for a day of conferences and discussions dedicated to equine welfare, presented by Kamel Boudra on the theme for 2025: “Equine welfare in equestrian centers: from theory to practice.”
